Neil Pryde kjører en Progressiv flex concept i mastene sine, grunnen til det er at de ønsker at en 4 kvm skal føles likt som en 5.0 og en 7.5 igjen skal ha samme følelse som en 5.0 kvm.
550 og 520 mastene er konstantkurve,
490 -400 mastene er Konstant / topflex det vil med andre ord si at den er noen prosent softere i toppen en ren Konstantkurve. Forskjellen er at seilet for litt andre egenskaper som mer respons i twisten i seilet som gir mer kontroll og fart en med konstantkurve som igjen gir noe mer power.
370 og 340 er rene topflex master for å gi maksimal balanse i riggen som igjen gir mer kontroll , og når det blåser 15 m/s ++ handler for alle å ha kontroll. NP mast vil oppgradere de fleste seil - ikke bare NP sine egne!
TPX100 SDM / RDM
Our top of the line mast and the fastest, most flexible mast in the range. The 100% carbon prepreg construction uses the Torq-Preg. This unique prepreg material features +/- 45 degree fiber orientation. This helps to control torsion, particularly in the boom area. Due to its construction, the mast is extremely lightweight while having a very fast response time.The NeilPryde mast range is designed following the Progressive Flex concept and so when used with a NeilPryde sail they have the correct shaping, twist and ability to remain stable in variable conditions.All NeilPryde mast models of the same length will have the same bend curve. This means you are not limited to a particular mast model to match your sail. The curve will only differ across different mast lengths, regardless of the model (TPX100, SPX90-95, SPX65). Our shorter masts are close to ‘flex-top curve’ while longer masts are closer to ‘constant curve’ - this is why we call it the Progressive Flex.The distance from the bottom of the mast to the boom is relatively constant between all mast lengths. On short masts the boom head is connected at a higher point than on longer masts. To compensate for much less ‘flexing length’ above the boom, short masts will have a softer top section compared to long ones as there is much more sail area above the boom that needs to be supported by the mast.
